Thanks for joining me here for another dispatch of my (mostly) twice-weekly music and menswear newsletter, which is different (but somewhat the same) as my daily style blog from which it gets its name. Thanks for reading!
Folks, it might seem unusual for this music-meets-menswear dispatch to be offering a tequila toast from Mexico, but that’s precisely what we’re doing today. I’m no longer in Brooklyn listening incessantly to my new favorite album , but I’m instead visiting both Tequila, Mexico and Guadalajara. I’m taking in the sites and sounds of lovely Mexico, enjoying Jose Cuervo (who was courteous enough to invite me on this trip!) and learning all about the company’s illustrious history. And yes, I’m also imbibing plenty of great tequila. You might have read about the trip briefly on my regular daily blog, but in short, there’s a big announcement coming soon from Jose Cuervo, and that’s why I’m on this trip on behalf of Maxim.com (I’m sworn to secrecy!). So, consider this my recommendation as to what to sip this weekend: Get some Jose Cuervo delivered for happy hour later via Drizly. Cheers!
It’s of course one of many hats I wear — in terms of writing about menswear, music, spirits and craft beer — so I’ll have plenty more to report back on from this trip in good time. That being said, I’m keeping today’s dispatch brief, in the interest of taking some time to go deep into agave fields (literally), and then explore an adventurous new locale. To see what I’m wearing on this trip, you’ll just have to follow me on Instagram.
Last but not least: I do indeed have a music recommendation for you! In late October — as I discussed briefly in my Wednesday newsletter — I had the chance to catch up with Matthew Myers, lead singer of Indiana folk rock band Houndmouth, and I wrote all about that conversation for NYC-based Atwood Magazine. I hope you enjoy reading and listening to the group’s latest record! With that being said, well, I’ve got some tequila to enjoy now. Cheers and thanks for reading!
