A fall wedding weekend and a few top picks

Thanks for joining me here for another dispatch of my twice-weekly music and menswear newsletter, which is different (but somewhat the same) as my daily style blog from which it gets its name. Thanks for reading!

I’ve been on the road quite a bit recently, heading back to Detroit to see Julien Baker and trekking down the Northeast coast to see bands like Big Thief. It’s a bit of a different trip for me this weekend though, as I’m once again back in Pure Michigan, just not for a rock show this time. I’m on the West side of the state in lovely Ludington, not far from Lake Michigan, and not only am I attending the wedding of an elementary school friend… I’m in said wedding! It’s a big, big deal, folks. With that, I’m keeping things necessarily brief so I can focus on matters at hand, but I put together a few quick-hit picks to guide you through the weekend in matters of style and music (that being said, my daily style blog is publishing as scheduled this weekend, and I’m always churning out content for sites like The Manual). Onward!

• As to your weekend listening, check out the new, very U2-esque single from Aussie rockers Gang Of Youths, one of my favorite bands of the past few years and always game for an epic new track. I also wrote about the band in this newsletter dispatch.

• To shop this weekend, might I suggest the rugged and layering-friendly Filson Double Layer Henley? I even wrote about it in greater detail on my blog.

• For your weekend imbibing, do yourself a favor and get a true Pure Michigan beer delivered to your doorstep: I’ll be sipping some Founders All Day IPA when I get the chance back in Grand Rapids and beyond. Cheers!
