Some quick Tuesday picks for a spring week

Well, folks. I did it. I’ve once again decamped to Florida, Johnson and Johnson vaccine card in hand, for a couple weeks of quality time with my parents, my dogs, the pool, the beach and my favorite Florida craft brewery. I’m going to keep today’s music-menswear-craft beer dispatch brief, as I sometimes tend to do when getting away to my adopted home of Florida or my native land of Michigan.

I like to take the time to reset (within reason — my stories at Maxim don’t write themselves!), reflect, rest up and get as much work as possible done before I hit the pool in the afternoon. It’s a tough job, but someone’s got to do it! And it’s a tricky balance in the freelance world these days, is it not? On that note, I hope to share some exciting news about a new project I’m working on… in good time!

With that being said, here are a few quick-hit picks to jumpstart your Tuesday. • What To Listen To This Week: Scottish synth pop heroes CHVRCHES, whom I talked about in an earlier newsletter, released a new song yesterday titled “He Said, She Said” — as with all things CHVRCHES, it really is excellent, so give it a listen.

• What To Shop This Week: Head to Huckberry to get all things Taylor Stitch, the San Francisco menswear brand that makes some of my favorite gear on the planet. You can’t go wrong with the Taylor Stitch Apres Shorts for laidback spring style.

• What To Sip This Week: I’ll be sipping on some much-loved Point Ybel Brewing Company beer this week, so do yourself a favor and get some spring beer of your own delivered to you via my guide to the best spring beers. Cheers!
