A weekend birthday getaway and some Saturday listening

Thanks for joining me here for another dispatch of my music and menswear newsletter, which is different (but somewhat the same) as my daily style blog from which it gets its name. Thanks for reading!

My friends, as I anticipated in this newsletter earlier this month, it’s been a mighty busy start to the year, between writing for my daily style blog, contributing frequently to Maxim and taking on plenty of style stories for SPY.com (to name but a few pursuits). I’ll be getting a bit of a breather from regular deadlines in the next few days though, as I’ll be wheels up to Florida for an early birthday weekend trip! On the agenda: Much-needed quality time with family, a trip to none other than Disney World (!), and of course, cold beer and great eats. Follow along with all the fun on my Instagram, but for now, here are a few quick picks to get your weekend started off on the right foot.

• To listen this weekend, I can’t recommend the seriously cool and genre-bending work of UK band Palace — I recently spoke with lead singer Leo Wyndham about the band’s most recent album for Atwood Magazine, so you should certainly give that a close listen for a Saturday morning kickstart.
