My Monday was shaken up in the best way possible with a pleasant, light and fun new Modest Mouse track, the groovy and pleasingly quirky “Leave A Light On” — have you heard this one yet? Well, now you have. I wrote a few weeks back about the first Modest Mouse single off the band’s new album, and I’m digging this tune just as much. It strikes me as the sort of song that’ll play really nicely in a live setting, perhaps with a bit of a psychedelic light show thrown in. It’s also fitting that the band just announced a tour (including some shows with my personal favorites, Future Islands!), a sign that nature is healing and things are getting back to normal. I’ll be keeping my ear to the ground for more from the groundbreaking and long-running band, and I suggest you do the same.
