Pour me a fresh beer from Threes Brewing (much more on them in a second) and let’s head into the weekend the right way. Thanks for being here. Does the headline feel a little too on-the-nose these days? It’s from the excellent track “Family Friends,” today’s featured tune and but one of the many amazing songs that really struck a chord with me off “A Billion Little Lights,” the new album by New York rockers Wild Pink, one I’ve talked about quite frequently here in this music-menswear-craft beer newsletter. Are you getting sick of hearing about the band yet? I hope not, because to me, this album is one of the year’s best, packed with nuanced, layered songs, inspiring lyrics and great instrumentation all around.
This newsletter entry is timed pretty nicely, too. Last week, I caught up with John Ross, lead singer of the acclaimed band, for L.A.-based Merry Go Round Magazine, one of the more fun interviews I’ve done in some time (surpassed only by my interview with Brandon Flowers, of course). I hope you’ll give that one a read, and I hope you’ll continue to scroll through today’s weekend-ready newsletter as you prepare for warm spring and summer days ahead. Let’s get right to it.
What To Listen To This Weekend: “Family Friends” By Wild Pink
If I’ve said it before, I’ve said it dozens upon dozens of times: The right music sets the tone for a weekend of rest, relaxation and more, and for me, my go-to band this spring has been, of course, Wild Pink. I’m a huge fan of the sweeping sonic landscape John Ross and co. have created, best heard on songs like this one — clever lyrics and all. Essentially, if you haven’t yet listened to this album or this spot-on song, I think you’re missing out. But not to worry! There’s plenty of time to enjoy one of the year’s best albums, starting right now. Great work and thank you to Wild Pink!
What To Shop This Weekend: Taylor Stitch Dispatch Jacket
If you subscribe to this newsletter or read my daily style blog, The Style Guide, you’re well aware of the fact that I think music and menswear are much more closely intertwined than you might think. Case in point: The fact that this rugged, durable and seriously cool Taylor Stitch Dispatch Jacket is the perfect spring and summer jacket for many seasonal pursuits, from brewery visits to, of course, outdoor indie rock shows. It’s pre-funding right now via the Taylor Stitch Workshop for under $150, too. And naturally, it’s got classic style in spades, based off a vintage shop find by the Taylor Stitch team, and it’s going to wear perfectly with faded light wash jeans, leather boots and your favorite T-shirt. I hope to wear a similar ensemble to see Wild Pink sooner rather than later!

Here it is, your all-crucial chance to stock up right now on some of the best beer for summer, and your all-crucial chance to get that beer at a discount. Head over to Brooklyn’s own Threes Brewing to score 10 percent off your online order of $50 or more with the code BEAU10, and revel in the knowledge that you’re getting incredible beer for an incredible value. I’m personally a huge fan of nearly anything Threes Brewing does, including hoppy lagers and pilsners, and this Czech pilsner looks like the perfect beer for a hot summer weekend day. Bottoms up, folks.
The Final Pick: Taylor Stitch Slim Jeans in Organic Selvage
If you ask me, it’s only right to round out this post in fine form with another menswear essential from Taylor Stitch. These classic blue jeans are the kind you can reliably wear any time and anywhere at all, from the coffee shop to a brewery to — you guessed it — an indie rock show. The great news is that, like the timeless music of Wild Pink, these jeans won’t really ever go out of style. And of course, you can more than readily pair them with the Taylor Stitch Dispatch Jacket.
Now, who’s ready for the weekend? I certainly am, and as it turns, I gave myself some pretty great weekend inspiration as I wrote this newsletter. I’ll be adding the Taylor Stitch Dispatch Jacket to my seasonal style wish list, and I’ll be making it a point to stop by Threes Brewing soon enough, too. Naturally, my weekend soundtrack is all set — the always-excellent “A Billion Little Lights,” of course, is my pick. So, join me in listening to Wild Pink, shopping Taylor Stitch and getting the best new beer for spring and summer from Threes Brewing at a discount with the code BEAU10. Cheers, my friends!
